Launch of new ePassport
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dermot Ahern TD, will launch Ireland's new ePassport at Iveagh House, St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, at 12 noon on Monday, 16th October, 2006.
The new passport contains an electronic chip which can store information about the passport applicant. This new feature enhances the security of the document, for the protection of Irish citizens.
