New British Ambassador presents Credentials


His Excellency Mr. David Reddaway presented his Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.  The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Ms Roshan Reddaway, his daughter Ms Touran Reddaway, Mr. Andrew Heyn, Deputy Head of Mission and Col. John Steed, Defence Attaché at the Embassy.

The Minister for Social and Family Affairs, Mr. Seamus Brennan T.D. was present at the ceremony.

Also present were Mr. Dermot Gallagher, Secretary General at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Loughlin Quinn, Deputy Secretary General to the President; Ms Kathleen White, Chief of Protocol and Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassador was escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin under the command of Lieutenant S. Walsh.

The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 4th Field Artillery Regiment, under the command of Lieutenant J. Moylan.

The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Commandant Mark Armstrong.
