Minister for Foreign Affairs expresses shock as Amman Explosions

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dermot Ahern T.D., tonight expressed his shock at news of explosions at hotels in Amman, Jordan.

The Minister said:  “While the facts are not yet clear, I am appalled by these reports. It seems all too likely that this was a terrorist attack aimed at killing and maiming entirely innocent people.  It cannot be said too often that such brutal and despicable actions are entirely unjustifiable in any circumstances.  On behalf of the Irish Government, I would like to express my deep sympathies to the victims and their families and also to the Jordanian Government and people, with whom we in Ireland have an excellent relationship.”
