Minister for Foreign Affairs Condemns Delhi Bombing

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Dermot Ahern TD, has expressed his shock and outrage at news of the bombing in Delhi.

The Minister said:

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of life in this appalling attack.  Yet again, terrorists have struck callously and at random at entirely innocent people. Whoever they are and whatever their purpose, the international community will and must stand firm in resisting all efforts to use violence to achieve political ends.

India, the world's largest democracy, is a friendly country with which Ireland has an excellent and long-standing relationship and I want to express the deep condolences of the Irish Government and people.”
