Minister Dermot Ahern condemns terrorist attack in Israel
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dermot Ahern T.D., today condemned the terrorist attack which has taken place in Netanya, Israel. During his visit to the region as UN Envoy, the Minister said,
“I have learnt with revulsion of today's attack in Netanya. I extend my deepest condolences to the families of those killed and my sympathies to those who were injured.
The actions of the terrorists responsible for this heinous act stand condemned by all right-thinking people.
This attack occurs at a time when there is renewed movement and hope of political progress. Against that prospect today's attack is particularly reprehensible.
At a time when I am visiting the region, I call on all those with the interest of the Palestinian people at heart to turn their back on violence and to strengthen those committed to reaching a lasting political settlement”.
