New Ambassadors present Credentials
Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Lesotho and the United Mexican States presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
Her Excellency, Mrs. Mannete Malethole Ramaili, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho, was accompanied by her husband Mr. Tseliso Ramaili and her son Mr. Mothibeli Ramaili and by Mr. Retselisitsoe Moea, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
Her Excellency, Mrs. Cecilia Jaber, Ambassador of the United Mexican States was accompanied by her children Francisco Blancarte Jaber, Emilia Blancarte Jaber and Paula Blancarte Jaber and by Mr. Juan Manuel González Bustos, Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Mexico.
The following also attended the ceremony: Mr. Brendan Smith, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food; Mr. Ronan Murphy, Assistant Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Brian McCarthy, Secretary General to the President; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol and Mr. Gerry Kelly, Assistant Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin under the command of Second Lieutenant Melissa Hogan.
The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, under the command of Lieutenant John O'Sullivan.
The Army Number 1 Band was conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Brendan Power.
