Minister Cowen Welcomes Statement from the Family of Seán Brown

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brian Cowen T.D., today welcomed the statement from the family of the late Seán Brown in relation to their intention to co-operate with the new investigation into his murder. He said: “The brutal and callous murder of Seán Brown was an evil act of sectarian hatred perpetrated against a highly respected member of the community. I share his family’s deep disappointment and frustration that the perpetrators of this terrible crime have not yet been brought to justice. The initiative outlined in the statement from the Brown family is, therefore, most welcome. I am glad to lend the assistance and support of this Department to the family through the participation of my officials in the advisory group. I share the family’s hope that the new investigation will provide evidence to convict those responsible for the murder of their father and husband”. Top
