New Ambassadors present Credentials
Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Republic of Nicaragua, the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Honduras presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
His Excellency, Dr. Ricardo José Alvarado Noguera, Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Paula Karariina Blomster.
His Excellency, Mr. Sulaiman Tejan Jalloh, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone, was accompanied by Mr. Sorie Fofana, Information Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
His Excellency, Mr. Iván Romero-Martínez, Ambassador of the Republic of Honduras, was accompanied by his son Mr. Iván Romero-Násser.
The following were also present at the ceremony: Mr. Tim O’Malley, T.D. Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children; Mr. Brian McCarthy, Secretary General to the President; Mr. John Neary, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Mr. Gerry Kelly, Assistant Chief of Protocol; Ms. Claire Reeves, Protocol Officer at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin under the command of Lieutenant Laura Keane.
The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Kilkenny Barracks, under the command of Lieutenant Dave Slattery.
Commandant Mark Armstrong conducted the Defence Forces School of Music Band.
