Minister Cowen announces €100,000 to support Trócaire’s Lenten Campaign

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brian Cowen T.D., today in Rwanda announced a grant of €100,000 for Trócaire’s Lenten Campaign. This year Trócaire’s campaign marks the 10th Anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda. Speaking from Kigali, Minister Cowen said: “I would like to express my appreciation to Trócaire for the work they have been doing in Rwanda over the last ten years. This contribution to the Lenten campaign reminds us that the vitally important work in Rwanda is by no means complete and that sustained international support is essential to ensure that progress continues”. Minister Cowen was in Kigali to represent the EU at the commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the Genocide. In Kigali, Minister Cowen visited a Trauma Counselling Project, run by Trócaire, which provides counselling for genocide victims. Top
