Postal Service Disruption: Arrangements for collecting Passports

Due to the postal service disruption the Passport Office is unable to post passports from its Office in Dublin. The Passport Office is now making arrangements to enable persons to collect their passport from its Dublin Office.

Persons who posted their passport application to the Dublin Passport Office on or before Monday 15th March last and wish to collect their passport may come in person to the Passport Office, Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 on Saturday 27th March between 09.00 and 15.30. This facility is only for persons who applied on or before 15th March.

Collection arrangements for persons who posted their applications to the Dublin Passport office from 16th March onwards are set out in the table below -

Date of posting 16 March 18 March 19 March 22 March 23 March

Date available for collection 29 March 30 March 31 March 1 April 2 April

Where the applicant is unable to collect their passport in person they should give a letter of authorisation to the person who is collecting the passport on their behalf.

The arrangements above refer only to applications posted to the Passport Office in Dublin.

Currently, applications made to the Passport Office, 1A South Mall, Cork by persons living in the Munster region are unaffected by the postal disruption.

Persons who are travelling within 10 days should continue to apply in person to the Passport Office in Dublin or Cork. Applicants should ensure that their application is correct as delays will arise if documentation is not in order or if the application is not completed fully and accurately.

Upon a resolution of the postal disruption all passports which have been held by the Dublin Passport Office will be posted on the next working day.
