Official Launch of the EU Presidency, 1 January 2004

To mark the beginning of the six month Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, an EU flag raising ceremony will be held in Dublin on 1 January 2004.
An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern T.D. will attend the ceremony which will take place at 1pm in Dublin Castle.
Further details of the ceremony will be circulated closer to the time.
Accreditation will be required for this meeting. Members of the media who wish to attend the ceremony and other meetings during the Presidency should accredit online now via the Irish Presidency website http://www.eu2004.ie.
As security clearance on applications is required, late applications for accreditation cannot be guaranteed. Early accreditation is therefore recommended.
