New Ambassadors present Credentials


Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of India and the Republic of Indonesia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

His Excellency, Mr. Stélio Marcos Amarante, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Maria Elisa de Barros Mendes Amarante, and Mr. Alan Coêlho de Séllos, Second Secretary, Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

His Excellency, Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Ambassador of the Republic of India, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Sulekha Kumar, his daughter Ms. Jigyasa Jyotika, his son Mr. Sarthak Satyanshu and Mr. N.J. Gangte, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of India.

His Excellency, Dr. Juwono Sudarsono, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, was accompanied his wife, Mrs. Priharumastinah Juwono, his sons Mr. Vishnu Juwono and Mr. Yudhistira Juwono, his daughter Mrs. Raquel Brenda Ririhena and Mr. Ramli Sa'ud, Minister Counsellor of Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.

The following also attended the ceremony: Mr. Ivor Callely, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children; Mr. Brian McCarthy, Secretary General to the President; Mr. David Donoghue, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol; Ms. Cáit Moran, Assistant Chief of Protocol; Ms. Joanne Emmerson, Protocol Officer, at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin under the command of Lieutenant D. Mc Donagh.

The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant B. Connelly.

The Band of the Defence Forces School of Music was conducted by Commandant M. Armstrong.
