Update: Travel Advice for Venezuela
The Department of Foreign Affairs has reviewed its travel advice for Venezuela and is advising against non-essential travel there at this time.
Many services in Venezuela have been affected by the national strike which began on Monday 2 December.
While we are not aware of any specific threat to Irish nationals, those going on essential travel to Venezuela should, as in all cases of unrest, avoid large gatherings such as political demonstrations.
The Department will continue to monitor the situation closely. This travel advice may be subject to change at short notice. Those intending to travel are advised to take up-to-date advice at the time.
