Minister Cowen condemns bombings in Bali
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Brian Cowen TD, strongly condemned the bombings in Bali yesterday.
"I deplore this senseless act of violence which has claimed so many lives. There can be no justification for murdering innocent people in this callous manner. This shocking attck achieves no political purpose other than to strengthen the resolve of the international community to fight terrorism."
"On behalf of the Government, I offer my deepest sympathies to the families of the victims. I am aware that a small number of Irish people were injured by the bombings and I have instructed an Irish consular official to travel to Bali to assist our citizens there in every way possible."
