Update: Travel Advice for India and Pakistan
The Department of Foreign Affairs has reviewed its travel advice for India and Pakistan.
India
In the light of eased tensions between India and Pakistan, the Department is no longer advising against travel to India.
Irish citizens in India are no longer advised to consider leaving the country. However, all Irish citizens in India should exercise vigilance and caution.
Irish citizens resident in India should ensure that they are registered with the Embassy.
The Department continues to advise against ALL travel to northern border regions of the country.
The Department will continue to monitor the situation closely and citizens should be aware that this travel advice may be subject to change at short notice.

Pakistan
The situation in Pakistan remains uncertain and unpredictable.
In light of this, the Department continues to advise against ALL travel to Pakistan and Irish people resident there are advised to reassess their position and to consider leaving unless there are compelling reasons for them to stay.
Irish citizens who travel to or remain in Pakistan are advised to communicate their contact details
to the Irish Honorary Consulate in Karachi.
