Update: Travel Advice for India
31/05/2002
In view of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the situation in the region is very uncertain and unpredictable at present. Intending travellers to India should consider their plans very carefully and, if possible, postpone their journey for the present. Irish citizens are advised against travelling to Jammu & Kashmir, including Ladakh, Punjab, Northern Rajasthan, Gujarat and other areas bordering Pakistan. Anyone intending to travel to India should contact the Irish Embassy in New Delhi for detailed advice and in order to let the Embassy know where they may be contacted while in India.
Irish citizens in India should register with the Embassy in New Delhi, if they have not already done so.
