Travel advice update

Irish citizens travelling to Indonesia should be aware that there have been a number of demonstrations against the military action in Afghanistan in many cities around Indonesia. Consequently, travellers are advised to be cautious and vigilant, and to monitor developments in international affairs which may have an impact on the local situation. Travellers should also respect the advice of the local security authorities and avoid any political demonstrations or gatherings.
The Department cautions against non-essential travel to the following areas until further notice: Aceh, Poso in Central Sulawesi, West Timor, and Ambon and the rest of the Maluku Province, where a state of civil emergency has been declared. Top
