URGENT- Travel Advice Update
Following the tragic events in the US on Tuesday September 11, Irish
nationals will be aware of increased tension and disruption to airline schedules
worldwide.
Intending travellers should be aware that enhanced security arrangements
at airports may require additional time for pre flight arrangements. Additionally,
they should consult their airline or travel agency before departure to establish if
their flights are operating. We advise against travel to Afghanistan.
We advise Irish citizens against travel to Pakistan unless strictly necessary
and Irish citizens currently in Pakistan should consider whether their continued
presence is necessary. We advise all Irish citizens in the North West Frontier Province
and Balochistan to leave those areas immediately. Those travelling abroad should
exercise extreme caution and vigilance and pay close attention to advice from
security authorities.
