Cowen to Visit the Czech Republic
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brian Cowen T.D., will pay an official visit to the Czech Republic on 27 and 28 June 2001.
During the visit the Minister will have discussions on Czech accession to the European Union and regional issues including the Balkans. The Minister will also brief his Czech hosts on the Northern Ireland Peace Process.
The Minister will pay a courtesy call on President Václav Havel on Wednesday 27 June. On Thursday 28 June he will have meetings with the Prime Minister, Mr. Miloš Zeman, the Foreign Minister, Mr. Jan Kavan, the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Václav Klaus, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Dr. Premsyl Sobotka.
Following a press conference at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday 28 June, the Minister will participate with Foreign Minister Kavan in an open discussion on the future of Europe.
