Apprentice Boys of Derry meet Minister in Dublin
The Governor, Alastair Simpson and General Secretary, Billy Moore of the Apprentice Boys Of Derry paid a visit to Dublin and made a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brian Cowen TD in Dáil Eireann. During the visit, they also met with Jimmy Deenihan T.D. (FG Spokesman on Northern Ireland) and officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
This was the first visit by the Apprentice Boys Of Derry to Dublin and the Minister welcomed the visit stating that this was very important "to allow us to talk and to listen to each other. The visit gave me a better understanding of the cultural heritage of the Apprentice Boys. I am pleased to announce that I have decided to make a grant of £30,000 towards this year's Maiden City Festival which is organised by them."Top
