Cowen to Launch New International Human Rights Organisation

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brian Cowen T.D., will launch Front Line: The International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders in Iveagh House on Thursday 22 February 2001 at 4:00pm.
Front Line is a new Dublin-based organisation which aims to support Human Rights Defenders in their activities and to try to ensure that they come to no physical or mental harm because of their work for human rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The primary focus of the organisation will be to act on behalf of those human rights defenders whose lives or health are at risk, either temporarily or permanently, because of their activities.
