Ireland to establish Diplomatic Relations with Republic of El Salvador

The Government of Ireland and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador are to establish diplomatic relations. The Minister for Foreign Affairs Brian Cowen T.D. will meet with Foreign Minister Brizuela de Avila on Thursday 13 July 2000 . Apart from the establishment of
diplomatic relations, other items for discussion include the appointment of an Irish Honorary
Consul in El Salvador, Ireland's Security Council candidature and development/economic
issues. The signature of this Joint Communiqué will take place at Iveagh House on Thursday
