Cowen Attends Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council in Florence
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Brian Cowen T.D., will attend the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) in Florence tomorrow (Thursday, 25 May 2000). The EAPC brings together 45 Partnership for Peace nations and meets twice a year at Foreign Minister level. This will be the first occasion for an Irish Foreign Minister to participate in an EAPC meeting.
The theme for tomorrow's meeting is "Effective Use of EAPC/Partnership for Peace in Conflict Prevention and Crisis Management". The meeting will be addressed by the Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe, Mr. Bodo Hombach.
Mr. Cowen will also have bilateral meetings in Florence with the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, Slovenia, Switzerland and Canada.
