Seminar - Pursuing Economic Opportunities for Ireland Abroad
At the instigation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr David Andrews, T.D., Irish Ambassadors, business leaders and representatives of State agencies are to participate in a major seminar, on September 1, 1999, at Iveagh House, on the promotion abroad of Irish economic interests.
Members of the media are invited to attend the opening of the seminar by the Taoiseach at 9 a.m. (Members of the media wishing to cover this element of the event are asked to arrive at Iveagh House no later than 8.45a.m.).
The meeting will discuss economic opportunities abroad under four main headings: Exploring New Markets, Prospects and Strategies in Major Markets, Developments in the Food and Drink Sector and Export of Services. Liz O'Donnell, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, will host a working lunch for the participants in the meeting and Mr Tom Kitt, T.D., Minister of state at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment will deliver the closing address. Members of the media are welcome to attend all elements of the seminar listed in the attached programme
Speakers at the Seminar will include representatives of AIB Group, SIFCO, Baltimore Technologies, the Royal College of Surgeons, Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Bord Bia, ESBI, the National Software Directorate and the Advisory Council for English Language Schools.
