Statement on behalf of David Andrews, T.D., Minister for Foreign Affairs
14/08/1999
The Minister for Foreign Affairs has reiterated his concern at the violence in Northern Ireland today. He has been in receipt of reports from Community leaders and the British Government throughout the day and has instructed his officials to continue to monitor the situation. He expects an early formal report from the British Government of the circumstances surrounding the development of the violence on the Ormeau Road this morning.
He called again for all sides to conduct themselves with restraint, as well as within the law.
