New Ambassadors present credentials


The following Ambassadors presented their credentials to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today:

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Nana Sutresna Sastradidjaja;

His Excellency the Ambassador of Malta, Mr. Richard Muscat;

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, H.E Mr. Cesar B. Bautista.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Megawati Sutresna and by Mr. Deddy Sudarman, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of Indonesia.

The Ambassador of Malta was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Joyce Muscat and by Mr. Alfred Cachia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malta.

The Ambassador of the Philippines was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Maria Paz Dionisio Bautista and by Ms Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez, Minister and Consul General, Embassy of the Philippines

The Minister of State at the Department of Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Mr. Chris Flood, T.D. was present at the ceremony.

Also present were Mr. Brian McCarthy, Secretary to the President; Mr. Pádraic Mac Kernan, Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Brian Nason, Chief of Protocol, Mr. Joseph Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol and Ms Síle Maguire, Assistant Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the Second Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Michael Conneely. A Guard of Honour was provided by the Fourth Field Artillery Regiment, Columb Barracks, Mullingar under the command of Lieutenant Enda McGuane.

The Army Number One Band was conducted by Commandant Joseph Ryan.
