Andrews condemns reckless and outrageous bomb attack
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. David Andrews, T.D., has said that he unreservedly condemns the reckless and outrageous bomb attack in Moira, Co. Down last night. "It is a source of great relief that this huge bomb caused no deaths or serious injuries, but that does not take away from the anger that will be felt towards those who are prepared to carry out such dangerous deeds."
"The future we are working so hard to create, through negotiation and agreement, has no place for bombs or violent deeds. Those responsible for this bomb are clearly determined to damage the peace process at a sensitive time. All who believe in democracy and reconciliation must not allow them to succeed. This bombing, like every other act of violence, represents an assault on the hopes of the Irish people for a permanent end to conflict. This is a prospect which, I continue to believe, remains within our grasp in the crucial weeks ahead", Mr Andrews said.Top
