Minister Burke condemns Jerusalem bombings

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Ray Burke, has issued the following statement on today's bombings in Israel.

"I wish to condemn totally the horrific suicide bombings which took place to-day in West Jerusalem.

I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of those who have been so tragically killed and offer my sympathies to the injured.

These appalling acts of terrorism, together with the similar deadly attacks in the recent past, are clearly aimed at destroying the Middle East Peace Process. They underline the vital necessity for a rapid reactivation of that process.

I wish to appeal to all sides not to be deflected by these atrocities but to strive together to seek the peace for which all the peoples of the region so earnestly yearnTop
