Death of Ireland's Ambassador to Portugal

It is with deep regret that the Department of Foreign Affairs announces the death of Ireland's Ambassador to Portugal, Mr John Burke, who died in Lisbon on Saturday after a short illness.

Mr Burke had been Ambassador to Portugal since June 1997 before which he served as Chief of

Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin.

Ambassador Burke's remains have been returned to Ireland

The removal will take place on Monday, 1 December at 7pm to the Church of the Holy Rosary in Greystones, co. Wicklow.Top
