The Government has decided that flags on all state buildings will be flown at half mast on Saturday as a mark of respect for Diana, Princess of Wales. The Government has also been informed by the Vice Marshal of the British Diplomatic Corps that invitations to attend her funeral "will be issued primarily on the basis of close personal association with the Princess. It is felt that this is more in line with what would have been her own wishes and is in line with the wishes of the Royal Family and the Spencer family. Some from overseas who know the Princess will be invited to attend. This will be on the basis of personal association".Top
