Irish Government to Mark Funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales
In an unprecedented step, the Irish Government has decided that flags on all state buildings will be flown at half-mast on Saturday as a mark of respect for Diana, Princess of Wales. The President, Mary Robinson, led the expression of condolences on Sunday, and the Taoiseach (Prime Minister), Mr Bertie Ahern T.D. and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Ray Burke T.D., are among the many thousands of Irish people who have signed books of condolence opened at the British Embassy and elsewhere throughout Ireland.
