Ireland Pledges Flood Relief

The Irish Government has pledged IR£10,000 (500,000 KC approx.) to provide emergency supplies to those left homeless and vulnerable by the flooding in Moravia and east Bohemia. In a letter to his Czech counterpart, doc. Ing. Josef Zieleniec CSc, the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ray Burke T.D., conveyed the condolences of the Irish Government on the tragedy which has claimed so many lives. Arrangements are being made to transfer the grant to the Czech Government's special flood account.
