Tánaiste to welcome Commander Neil Armstrong to Kerry
The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dick Spring T.D., has invited the people of Tralee and County Kerry to join him in Denny Street, Tralee, on Friday, 18 April, to welcome Commander Neil Armstrong, the most decorated astronaut of all time, to Ireland. Commander Armstrong, who was the first man to walk on the moon, will be in Tralee to officially open the NASA-ESA space Exhibition at the Kerry County Museum at 3.00pm. The opening will take place out of doors on the steps of the Ashe Memorial Hall.
Mr Spring said that the Army Pipe Band will be present for the occasion. Also, to honour this most distinguished aviator, the Aer Corps will perform a fly-over of the Ashe Memorial Hall during the official opening. The occasion will be very special and
Mr Spring would like as many people as possible to have an opportunity to meet Neil Armstrong.
