New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Republic of Turkey and Georgia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

 

His Excellency Mr. Turan Morali, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Ireland was accompanied by Ms. Gülseren Çelik, First Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Turkey.

 

His Excellency Mr. Gela Charkviani, Ambassador of Georgia to Ireland was accompanied by Ms. Nino Sanadze, First Secretary (Political), Embassy of Georgia

 

The following were also present at the ceremony: Mr. Pat the Cope Gallagher T.D.,

Minister of State at the Department of Transport; Mr. Loughlin Quinn, Deputy Secretary to the President; Ms. Mary Whelan, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs ; Mr. Thomas O. Bolster, Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

 

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of 2nd Lieutenant David Coughlan.

 

The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 1st Infantry Battalion, Galway, under the command of 2nd Lieutenant Alan Mordaunt.

 

The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Lieutenant Brian Prendergast.
