New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Angola, the Republic of Albania and of the Republic of Tunisia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

Her Excellency Ms. Catherine Muigai Mwangi, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, was accompanied by Mr. Richard Lemoshira, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Kenya.

Her Excellency Mrs. Ana Maria Teles Carreira, Ambassador of the Republic of Angola was accompanied by Mr. Antonio Sampaio Victorino, Press Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Angola.

His Excellency Mr. Zef Mazi, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, was accompanied by Mr. Myzafer Alushi, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Albania.

Her Excellency Mrs. Hamida Mrabet Labidi, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia, was accompanied by Mr. Nejib Gorgi, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia.

The following were also present at the ceremony: Mr. Seán Power T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform; Mr. Loughlin Quinn, Deputy Secretary to the President; Mr. Adrian O’Neill, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs;  Ms. Kathleen White, Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Mr. James McIntyre, Assistant Chief of Protocol and Ms. Marion O’Donnell, Assistant Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of 2nd Lieutenant Laura Keane.

The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 6th Infantry Battalion, Custume Barracks, Athlone, under the command of Lieutenant Colin Watters.

The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Lieutenant Fergal Carroll.
