The Department of Foreign Affairs has set up a helpline with regard to the situation in Kenya
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Dermot Ahern T, D., has directed that a special helpline within the Department of Foreign Affairs be set up with regard to the current situation in Kenya.
The Minister stressed that “we have no reason to believe that any Irish citizens are caught up in the recent outbreak of violence in Kenya. However in light of the significant number of Irish citizens both resident and visiting Kenya as tourists, the Department of Foreign Affairs has set up the following freefone number for anyone with concerns regarding the safety of relatives of friends in the country”.
The number is 1800 242 548.
The Department of Foreign Affairs, through our Honorary Consul in Nairobi, continues to monitor the situation closely.
