New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of Japan, Ukraine, Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Burkina Faso presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

His  Excellency Mr. Toshinao Urabe, Ambassador of Japan was accompanied by his wife Mrs Etsuko Urabe and Mr. Torao Sato, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Japan.

His Excellency Mr. Borys M. Bazylevskiy, Ambassador of Ukraine was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Yuliya Bazylevskiy, his daughter Miss Anastasiya Bazylevskiy and by Ms. Iryna Shevchenko, Third Secretary, Embassy of Ukraine.

His Excellency Mr.  Tran Quang Hoan, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was accompanied by Mr. Duong Hai Hung, Third Secretary, Embassy of Vietnam.

His Excellency Mr. Kadré Désiré Ouedraogo, Ambassador of Burkina Faso was accompanied by his wife, Madame Virginie Solange Ouedraogo-Iriga.

The following were also present at the ceremony: Mr. Billy Kelleher, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment;Mr. Tim O’Connor, Secretary General to the President; Mr. Brendan Rogers, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs;  Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol; Mr. Tom Bolster, Deputy Chief of Protocol; Ms. Marion O’Donnell, Assistant Chief of Protocol and Mr. James McIntyre, Assistant Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of 2nd Lieutenant,
Dave Coughlan.

The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 1 Armoured Car Squadron, under the command of Lieutenant Kevin O’Reilly.

The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Lieutenant Fergal Carroll.
