Passports Act 2008
The purpose of the Passports Act 2008 is to provide a comprehensive legislative basis for the regulation and issuance of passports.
The Act came into effect on 1 November 2008. Read text of Act here .
The Minister for Foreign Affairs has also issued two sets of associated regulations dealing with periods of validity of passports and time limits for the hearing of appeals against decisions to refuse to issue or to cancel a passport.
