Minister for Foreign Affairs condemns Antrim murders
Statement by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin, TD
I condemn absolutely the murderous attack in Antrim.
I extend my deepest sympathy to those who have lost loved ones, to the injured and to their families.
But let us be clear. The targets of this attack are the Irish people, North and South. This is an attempt to undermine the remarkable progress of recent years. The perpetrators of this assault have no mandate. They will not be allowed to succeed. They must be brought to justice.
I have spoken tonight with the Secretary of State. The two Governments working closely together with the political parties in Northern Ireland will not be deflected from our path.
