New Ambassadors present Credentials
Their Excellencies the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ambassador of Malta presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
H.E. Dr. María Esther Teresa Bondanza, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic was accompanied by Ms Ana Pisano de Ashton, Minister and Head of Consular Section at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic.
H.E. Mr. Ariel Y. Abadilla, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines was accompanied by his daughters Ms Marienette Abadilla and Ms Katharine Abadilla and by Ms. Hjayceelyn Quintana, Minister and Consul General at the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines.
H.E. Mr. Busso von Alvensleben, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany was accompanied by Mrs. Clarissa Duvigneau, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
H.E. Mr. Joseph Zammit Tabona, Ambassador of Malta was accompanied by Ms. Ruth Farrugia, Chargé D’Affaires a.i. at the Embassy of Malta in Dublin.
The following were also present at the ceremony; Mr. Pat Carey, T.D. Minister of State and Chief Whip, Mr. Tim O’Connor, Secretary General to the President, Mr. Dan Mulhall, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Kathleen White, Chief of Protocol, Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Mr. Kieran Dowling, Deputy Chief of Protocol and Ms Marion O’Donnell, Assistant Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks under the command of Lieutenant Clare Mortimer.
The Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by 1st Con Cois Dún Ui Mhaoiliosa, Gaillimh, under the command of Lieutenant Gillian Costello.
The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Captain Declan Whitson.
