New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova and the Ambassador of Georgia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Mr. Anibal de Castro, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic was accompanied by Ms Alejandra Hernández, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of the Dominican Republic

H.E. Ms Natalia Solcan, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova was accompanied by Ms Ala Beleavschi, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova

H.E. Mr. Giorgi Badridze, Ambassador of Georgia was accompanied by Ms Nino Sanadze, First Secretary at the Embassy of Georgia

The following were also present at the ceremony; Ms Áine Brady T.D. Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, Mr. Tim O’Connor, Secretary General to the President, Ms. Mary Whelan, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs,  Ms. Kathleen White, Chief of Protocol,  Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol and Ms. Marion O’Donnell, Assistant Chief of Protocol at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks under the command of Lieutenant Cathal Daly .

The Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by, the 4th Infantry Battalion, Collins Barracks, Cork, under the command of Lieutenant Barry Waters.


The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Comdt Mark Armstrong.
