Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Micheál Martin, T.D., welcomes announcement of visit to Ireland by US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Micheál Martin, T.D., has welcomed the announcement by the US State Department that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit Ireland on Sunday 11 October 2009. 

The Minister said:

“I very much look forward to welcoming the Secretary of State to Ireland.  Hillary Clinton has been a great friend to Ireland over many years. 

Her visit as Secretary of State is a further demonstration of her deep personal commitment to Irish-US relations and to the process of political transformation on this island. I welcome the opportunity for an exchange of views with the Secretary of State on these issues and on the many significant challenges facing the international community.”
