1999 NGO Forum

The 2^nd NGO Forum took place on 26 June 1999 in Dublin Castle. The main themes of the Forum were Women’s Human Rights, Racism in Ireland, A Bill of Rights for the European Union, Human Rights Commissions in Ireland and UN Treaty Monitoring Bodies.  The Forum was opened by Minister of State Chris Flood, T.D. and the keynote address was given by Professor Brice Dickson, Chief Commissioner, Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission. Speakers included Mr Brian Burdekin, Specialist Advisor to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on National Institutions, Mr Michael Farrell, Irish Council for Civil Liberties, Dr Anastasia Crickley, National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism and Professor Dermot Walsh, University of Limerick.Top
