Minister for European Affairs launches new publication on
EU Law in Ireland
The Minister of State for European Affairs, Lucinda
Creighton T.D., is to launch “EU law in Ireland” a new publication
by Dr. Elaine Fahey of the School of Social Science and Law at the
Dublin Institute of Technology. The launch will take place
this evening at 6.30 pm at the DIT campus in Aungier Street.
In addition to the launch of the book the DIT is also
launching a new module of the same name – EU Law in Ireland.
In the book Dr. Fahey offers some reflections on EU Law as it
affects legislation in Ireland following the Lisbon treaty.
The book provides an up-to-date and comprehensive collection
of materials, including relevant primary legislation,
constitutional texts and key jurisprudence.
Commenting on the publication, Minister Creighton said:
"I am delighted to have been asked by Dr. Fahey to launch her
book “EU law in Ireland”. It provides a valuable insight and guide
to the post-Lisbon legal situation in this country and is an
extremely welcome addition to the public record. This publication
will be of major interest and practical use to students, academics,
practitioners and Government and public servants, both in Ireland
and Brussels."
