Conflict Resolution Programme in Timor-Leste

The CRU’s engagement included a Peace, Remembrance and Reconciliation Programme managed by Trócaire and implemented by local Timorese organisations, and a community based early warning system for conflict prevention.  The CRU also funds international organisations which promote dialogue amongst various groups in the country. 

Support to security sector reform in Timor-Leste is vital to ensure that peace and security improvements made to date are sustained in the longer term.  The new Country Strategy Programme for 2010-2013 ensures that conflict resolution is fully integrated in the development programme.
