Engagement with Academia
The annual Andrew Grene Scholarship Scheme is run in conjunction with the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences to support PhD students carrying out research on conflict resolution and peace building. The Scheme is named in honour of Andrew Grene, the Irish UN development worker who died tragically in January 2010 as a result of the Haiti earthquake.
The CRU also supports an academic research scheme, the Research Development Initiative, which fosters collaboration between Irish Universities and enables the Irish academic community to enhance its international engagement in the area of conflict resolution.
